News Day Tuesday: October 8-14 2013

This past week was a week of announcements – not surprising as New York Comic Con took place over the weekend.

But first, perhaps some of the most promising news of the week is that the new head of Warner Brothers, Kevin Tsujihara, has come out in favour of a Wonder Woman movie! Saying ““We need to get Wonder Woman on the big screen or TV.” Hooray! There’s hope!

Also in the world of TV – a full season of Agents of SHIELD has been ordered. And there has been some some suggestion that we might see more of the Birds of Prey on Arrow (Huntress has already appeared and Black Canary will be introduced this season).

Will we be seeing a Fantastic Four reboot sometime soon? There are some names being tossed around.

Gail Simone and Brian Wood have announced that Red Sonja and Conan will be reuniting for the first time in over a decade. Red Sonja has kicked ass so far and I adore Brian Wood so this should be worth checking out.

Other new series announced that sound promising – Blackout and White Suits from Dark Horse and a limited series from Jonathan Maberry (also Dark Horse)

And Alert! New Greg Rucka series! Do you even need to know what it’s about? It’s female led and Rucka. How can you lose?

Are we about to witness the end of Superboy?

Marvel announced a lot of promising new titles at Comic Con and DC promised us the return of Stephanie Brown! Instead of listing them all here, we’ll have a separate post up tomorrow exploring them in more detail. If you can’t wait – here’s a good summary.

And last but not least Kelly Sue DeConnick reminds us why we love her so much.
